Yogawoman

Well, I had to share the trailer for this amazing movie.

Yoga was brought to the west by a lineage of male teachers.
Women were not traditionally practitioners of yoga.
Yoga was always a male practice.

This film explores how women in the west have transformed this practice from the rigid, male focused form to the more flowing, feminine practice that honours femininity, flow, our cycles, community and connection.

"Yoga is the state where you feel whole and complete."

"I would say it will save your life, it will change your life. It will make you so much more accepting of yourself."

I know these statements to be true for me.

I have been consistently practising yoga for just over a year and I can say that it has TRANSFORMED my life!
It is the practice that brings me home.
It is where everything makes sense.

It is so needed at the moment in our humanity.

This is a film that is being screened independently, the producers are hoping that all lovers of yoga will spread the word.

There are a lot of screenings in the US.
I have only seen one in Australia.
I am going to try and organise one in my own community.
You can purchase the DVD, or organise a screening through the website here.

You can also listen to the producers discussing the movie in the amazing tele summit about divine feminine yoga that I shared in this previous post

I have been listening to one interview each night and I am absolutely blown away by what women are doing in the world.

It is so inspiring.

Oh and you really don't need to be a yogini to appreciate the film or the tele summit.

I hope you find some inspiration here.

Blessings to you.

(Oh, I am not being paid to sponsor any of this, I am just absolutely inspired and hoping that I can inspire someone else too!)

  1. Ola you have reminded me that I must try and go back to yoga. I was going with a friend but she no longer wants to go and I find it so hard to go on my own but I am going to try after the holidays. Thank you for reminding me how important it is to take care of my mind and body. xo
