Discovering mySelf

Today we are packing.
We are getting up at 4 am tomorrow morning and driving 3 and a half hours to go to do some seriously intense yoga.

I am booked in to do a workshop on the therapeutic application of Dru yoga, Dru sound and toning and the hidden secrets of the Bhagavad Gita.

There will also be other sessions like networking, relaxation, yoga and meditation.

This is the biggest gathering of Dru yogis in Australia and includes 20 teachers from all over the world.

To say that I am excited is an understatement!

"It is your destiny to see as God sees,
to know as God knows,
to feel as God
feels.
How is this possible? How?
Because divine love cannot defy its very self.

Divine love will be eternally true to its own being,
and its being is giving all it can,
at the perfect
moment.

And the greatest gift
God can give is His own experience.

Every object,
every creature, every man, woman and child
has a soul and it is the destiny of all,
to see as God sees, to know as God knows,
to feel as God feels, to Be
as God
Is."

- Meister Eckhart

I hope that you have an inspiring weekend.

Blessings to you.

New moon darkness (and light)

I have been feeling a little melancholy.
The new moon tomorrow seems to be affecting me and everyone in my home.
It has been predicted that these few days are to be some of our darkest on the planet.

So, I am not taking myself too seriously.

Just pacing.

Pacing.

I read somewhere that Jodi said:

"Take photographs of your life and your home - every day. I started doing this a few years ago and I began to notice that I was surrounded by beauty. It helped me be more grateful for what was already in my life, instead of constantly wishing for what I didn't have."

So, I started that today.

Here are some photos of the beauty in my life:

Suckers on the beach.

Blessed hydrangeas outside my front door.

Buddha - a reminder of a spiritual practice that is all encompassing and compassionate.

Jasmine in my garden - I had one like this growing outside my bedroom window as a child and the smell always takes me back.

Playing with mud.

Friends that are supportive and brimming with heart felt love.
Friends that support me and love me with all my quirks.

The river that washes away our worries.
The river that reminds us to go with the flow of our lives and to stop trying to swim against the current.

The reminder to

accept

what

is.

I hope you find some light in this dark moon.

Blessings to you.

Yogawoman

Well, I had to share the trailer for this amazing movie.

Yoga was brought to the west by a lineage of male teachers.
Women were not traditionally practitioners of yoga.
Yoga was always a male practice.

This film explores how women in the west have transformed this practice from the rigid, male focused form to the more flowing, feminine practice that honours femininity, flow, our cycles, community and connection.

"Yoga is the state where you feel whole and complete."

"I would say it will save your life, it will change your life. It will make you so much more accepting of yourself."

I know these statements to be true for me.

I have been consistently practising yoga for just over a year and I can say that it has TRANSFORMED my life!
It is the practice that brings me home.
It is where everything makes sense.

It is so needed at the moment in our humanity.

This is a film that is being screened independently, the producers are hoping that all lovers of yoga will spread the word.

There are a lot of screenings in the US.
I have only seen one in Australia.
I am going to try and organise one in my own community.
You can purchase the DVD, or organise a screening through the website here.

You can also listen to the producers discussing the movie in the amazing tele summit about divine feminine yoga that I shared in this previous post

I have been listening to one interview each night and I am absolutely blown away by what women are doing in the world.

It is so inspiring.

Oh and you really don't need to be a yogini to appreciate the film or the tele summit.

I hope you find some inspiration here.

Blessings to you.

(Oh, I am not being paid to sponsor any of this, I am just absolutely inspired and hoping that I can inspire someone else too!)

Spring Equinox 2011

Lettuce growing
Happy Spring Equinox!

(Or Autumn Equinox if you are in the Northern Hemisphere)

It has felt like Spring for about six weeks already, a lot of the bulbs I planted for Spring have already died down.
I suspect we might have a very warm Summer coming.

According to Fiona:

"The days and nights are of perfect equal length today, with tomorrow tipping over onto the light.
This is a wonderful time to look at where your life is or is not in balance and how to make changes that support you.
We are in the time of new birth, beginnings and youthfulness.
Perfect to start that exercise program, or set some new goals for yourself!"

I really do feel like I am in a time of new birth.
I feel that I am actually birthing the me that I always was.

Yoga, meditation, self nurturing and reigniting all those passions I had in my late teens that I buried when I went to work in the corporate world.

Life feels good.
And very expansive at the moment.

It feels true.
Real.
Honest.

I have got many plans brewing in the back of my mind.

And I am doing a lot of soul searching before I release them into the world.
For now, I nurture them within.

I hope that you have a blessed Spring Equinox.

We are going to celebrate on Sunday with celebration bread, flowers and some sort of egg based dessert.

This is the time we are meant to be celebrating Easter (Eostar)in the Southern Hemisphere.
(Chocolate eggs and bunnies hopping about)

I am still trying to get my head around it, being raised Catholic in a Northern Hemisphere culture whilst living in the Southern Hemisphere for most of my life.

Anyway, that goes into the soul searching bit for now :).

Blessings to you.

Divine Feminine Yoga Telesummit

I was going to pack for our weekend away in Queenscliff tonight.
But, I got some information about this Telesummit and I am going to be listening to that instead.

We can pack in the morning!

It is a telesummit for women based around yoga, listening to our bodies and the sacred feminine.

And it is...

FREE!!

I don't know much more, because I have just found it, but, from the 15 minutes I heard of the first call, I am hooked.

So, go and have a listen and let me know your thoughts.

Follow this link:

Blessings to you.

Vegemite sandwiches all around

We just got the news.

I had to share.

On 12 September, 2011, our family has been granted permanent residence in Australia.

Thank you Sohail, you made this all possible for us.

Thanks to your brilliance, your company paid for our move and sponsored our visa.

Three years later, we submitted our application for permanent residence, which your company also paid for.

Six weeks later, we got it!

I am so grateful to be here, and now I really feel like I can plant my roots in this beautiful country.

What great news on the full moon.

Blessings to you.
