And just like that, my dad and brother left this morning.

They slotted into our lives like they had always lived here.
Part of the family.
As they always have been.

Revamped my garden.
Bonded with the children.
Made Christmas possible.
Made Annie's birthday possible.
Cleaned up after themselves.
Made copious amounts of tea.
Made delicious meals.

My dad discovered yoga.
My brother played the guitar.

We had a little bit of heaven and magic for a few weeks.

It is now just the four of us again.

Annie says she wishes it was still just the six of us.

We cried a lot this morning.
We all feel so very sad.

So very sad that our family lives so far away.

And so very lucky that we can feel this sad.

Because it means that we have some really amazing people in our lives.

I hope that we see them again soon.
And I pray, that one day, they will come and live in Australia with us.

Say a little prayer for us, if you wish.

Blessings to you.

  1. I so hear you! we spent 6 days with my parents this Christmas. I hadn't seen my Dad for a year. It was so hard leaving them yesterday. Glad you had such a blessed time. xo m.

  2. Thinking of you Ola. I wish for your family to be with you, here in Australia where they can be safe and near you. I'm glad that you got to spend such a special time with them while they were here. xo

  3. Tell me about it, I'm still feeling the emotional void of them not being here. As with everything else, this gets easier with time (I think!).

    I love you.

  4. I can't imagine living so far away from my family. I hope you get to see them soon and that it will be as they move to Australia to be with you.

  5. There is always so much to be grateful for, even when our heart breaks when it is all over. Saying a prayer that you see them again really soon. xo

  6. i am crying...i know. thinking of you. hugs.

  7. Thank you for all the kind messages, it really uplifts my heart.
