Gone
And just like that, my dad and brother left this morning.
They slotted into our lives like they had always lived here.
Part of the family.
As they always have been.
Revamped my garden.
Bonded with the children.
Made Christmas possible.
Made Annie's birthday possible.
Cleaned up after themselves.
Made copious amounts of tea.
Made delicious meals.
My dad discovered yoga.
My brother played the guitar.
We had a little bit of heaven and magic for a few weeks.
It is now just the four of us again.
Annie says she wishes it was still just the six of us.
We cried a lot this morning.
We all feel so very sad.
So very sad that our family lives so far away.
And so very lucky that we can feel this sad.
Because it means that we have some really amazing people in our lives.
I hope that we see them again soon.
And I pray, that one day, they will come and live in Australia with us.
Say a little prayer for us, if you wish.

I so hear you! we spent 6 days with my parents this Christmas. I hadn't seen my Dad for a year. It was so hard leaving them yesterday. Glad you had such a blessed time. xo m.
